Sobre Jesucristo y el jagad-guru

Pregunta: ¿Si Jesucristo fue un jagad-guru y sus instrucciones son capaces de darnos liberación, por qué nosotros necesitamos un maestro espiritual?
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhupada: Nosotros aceptamos tanto al maestro espiritual universal como al maestro espiritual iniciador [diksa-guru]. Por aceptar únicamente el jagad-guru, auizá tengamos que enfrentar muchos anarthas. Si en la actualidad queremos seguir las órdenes de Cristo aceptándolo como jagad-guru y pensamos que no necesitamos un maestro espiritual iniciador, ciertamente dudaremos sobre cómo podemos seguir bien las órdenes de Cristo. El Señor Supremo o el jagad-guruuniversal sólo entregan sus instrucciones sobre la verdad absoluta a través de la sucesión discipular. Así como yo me siento en la ribera del Ganga en Nabadwip, y puedo tocar su agua aquí, lejos del Himalaya donde nace el Ganges, similarmente el maestro espiritual iniciador trae el Ganga del servicio devocional puro que emana de los pies del loto del señor, y lo pone en mi mano y en mi cabeza. Como yo soy una persona ordinaria, impotente, y pobre, no puedo subir al Himalaya para tocar su agua allí. En forma similar, si se interrumpe en el camino el flujo del Ganga del Himalaya, tendría que enfrentar el peligro de aceptar un flujo contaminado en lugar del puro Ganga. Si las instrucciones que Jesucristo dio hace dos mil años no vienen a nosotros a través de la sucesión discipular, o si tenemos que buscarlas fuera de los libros, entonces quizás podamos crear una equivocación y aceptar una perversión de la verdad enseñada en el nombre de la Cristiandad. Incluso podemos llegar a aceptar algo opuesto de lo que él enseñó, pensándolo que es su verdadera filosofía.
El maestro espiritual iniciador también es jagad-guru porque él es una manifestación del jagad-guru original. Debido a su misericordia sin causa, él entrega el mensaje del jagad-guru original a través de la sucesión discipular. Él no estafa o adula al discípulo, ni tampoco anhela ninguna ganancia o beneficio material. Él simplemente es un mensajero de la verdad absoluta.

You Appeared before Devi Sita Assuming a Diminutive Form (in Lanka),
You Assumed an Awesome Form and Burnt Lanka.

You Brought the Sanjivana herb and Revived Sri Lakshmana.
Because of this Sri Rama Embraced You overflowing with Joy.

Raghupati Kiinhii Bahut Baddaaii |

And said: "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharata".

Said Sri Rama to You taking you in his Embrace.

Yama (god of death), Kubera (god of wealth), Digpalas (the guardian deities),
Poets and Scholars have not been able to Describe Your Glories in full.

You Introduced him to Sri Rama and thereby Gave back his Kingdom.

And the Whole World Knows that he became the King of Lanka.

Liilyo Taahi Madhura Phala Jaanuu ||
Meaning:
The Sun which was at a distance of Sixteen Thousand Miles,
You Swallowed It (the Sun) thinking it to be a Sweet Fruit.

जलधि लाँधि गये अचरजनाहीं ॥
Prabhu Mudrikaa Meli Mukh Maahii |
Jaladhi Laadhi Gaye Acarajanaahii ||

Carrying Lord Sri Rama's Ring in your Mouth,
You Crossed the Ocean, no Wonder in that.

All the Difficult Tasks in this World,

No one can Enter without Your Permission.

If You are the Protector, what is there to Fear?

You alone can Control Your Great Energy.

When one Utters the Name of Mahavir (Hanuman).

When one Meditates on Him with Mind, Deed and Words.

Meaning:
Sri Rama is the King of the Tapaswis (devotees engaged in penances).
And You (Hanuman) Fulfill all Works of Sri Rama (as a caretaker).

Devotees who have any Other Desires,

You can Give the Eight Siddhis (supernatural powers) and Nine Nidhis (types of devotions).
Mother Janaki (Devi Sita) gave this Boon to you.

Thereby getting Free of the Sorrows of Life after Life.

Jahaa Janma Hari-Bhakta Kahaaii ||

At the End one Goes to the Abode of Raghupati (Sri Rama).
Where one is Known as the Devotee of Hari.

Meaning:
Even without Worshipping any Other Deities,
One Gets All Happiness who Worships Sri Hanuman.

Will get Freed from Worldly Bondage and get Great Happiness.
